See You Around the Pole
See You at the Pole started in 1990 by some teens in Burleson, Texas. One Saturday night they felt compelled to pray at three different schools around the school flagpoles. Students throughout Texas took up the cause. On September 12, 1999 at 7 a.m., over 45,000 students met at their flagpoles to pray before school.
Word spread quickly across the U.S., and youth ministers reported that students outside of Texas were feeling the same burden for their schools.
Over one million students around the country gathered at 7 a.m. to pray around their flagpoles on September 11, 1991. That number has grown to 3 million students in the U.S. There are students now in 20 other countries that participate in the event.
CKA Students met with teachers and several of our area youth pastors and supporters at 8 a.m. September 24 to pray together for our school, our friends who teach and attend public school, our community leaders, and our country's leaders. God listens to the fervent prayers of His children.

Drills
Various drills are practiced each month in accordance with fire district recommendations. They include fire, earthquake, and intruder drills.
In case of a serious earthquake or other critical situations, we ask parents to help in the following areas:
Earthquake Kits
We ask that parents help us by supplying children with an earthquake kit at the beginning of each school year.
First Aid Supplies
Each classroom has a first aid kit to be used in a disaster/emergency situation. Teachers keep a minimal supply of bandages in their rooms. The school’s first aid supplies are kept in the office. These supplies are updated as needed.
Snow in the Forecast
In case weather forecasts for the North Kitsap area indicate snowfall, be sure to check this web site and your television and radio stations for updated storm and possible school closure information before sending a student out for school. You may also call the school office and will receive a message of closure at 779.9189.
In case of early dismissal due to mid-day snow or power outage, please contact your carpool driver for that day, and make arrangements for your child to be picked up. The office will initiate the phone tree. In this event, please go directly to the classroom to pick up your child. The teacher will have a sign-out clipboard for you to sign out the children you are responsible for. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE OFFICE. The teachers in the classrooms will hold your children until you arrive, and can answer your questions for you. In the case of having a few remaining children from varying grades, a classroom and a teacher will be designated to house and supervise the children awaiting pick up. Go to your child's classroom first, and if your child is not there, go to the office. We will direct you to the appropriate place.
