Athletics

After-school athletics are available to junior high students. Students may join boy's or girl's basketball and girl's volleyball. Christ the King Academy plays schools in the Kitsap County, Peninsula, Tacoma, and Seattle areas. We have even gone as far as Marysville.

Our teams have been very successful. Head coach, Nick Gilman, does an excellent job of preparing the athletes, training them and improving their skills. Students leave CKA prepared to continue in competitive sports.

A fee is charged for each sport. Fees cover transportation, referees, and other costs associated with the sport. At the beginning of each season, the student will sign a sports participation agreement outlining their expectations.

The following sports are offered:

Girls' Volleyball

CKA is Volleyball teams are extremely competitive. We play approximately 10-12 matches with other Christian schools from the Seattle/Tacaoma and Kitsap County areas. Last year's team was undefeated in match play. Girls learn strong fundamental techniques, along with competitive team play. A Christ-centered approach to competition is vigorously stressed.

Girls' Basketball

Girl's basketball team players have gone on to play high school basketball at Christian and public school arenas. There has always been strong student support of girls' basketball at CKA.

Boy’s Basketball
Our boys basketball team plays other Christian schools from the Seattle/Tacoma and Kitsap County areas. Sportsmanship, fundamentals, team play, and a Christ-like approach to competition are heavily emphasized.
