Parents for CKA
Christ the King Academy holds to the Biblical values that parents are responsible for the education of their children. This is why CKA desires to involve both the school and home in the success of a child’s education.
"Parents for CKA" is a support organization, which will endeavor to help carry out and model the vision and educational philosophy of our school by helping parents to become involved. The purpose is to unite parents through open communication as we support and serve the students, teachers and administration in providing spiritual and academic excellence.
Chairpersons, representing all grade levels, oversee the system and work directly with the Principal to coordinate the calendar and discuss teacher needs and needs of the school. Classroom Representatives (room parents per classroom) work directly with Chairpersons to meet teacher needs. All parents and various volunteers help to get the work done. Smaller Task Committees are made up of parents who are interested in helping with special events such as Grandparents Day or Missions Week.
Meetings are held once a month and will be announced in the weekly newsletter. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
2010-11 PCKA Chair:
We know that by being a part of the CKA family, our parents not only desire, but are willing, to support CKA through their time, skills, talents, and financial gifts. All parents and staff are important members of Christ the King Academy's "Parents for CKA."
Parent volunteers are very important people at CKA. From classroom helpers, to art project instructors, to fundraising—CKA parents do it all. Our strengths and talents are varied and put to good use.
Some of the funding events we implement during the year are the Class Act Auction and the Marathon. Everyone enjoys participating in one or more of these exciting events!
